The 2026 Sunday Creek Classic delivered another outstanding weekend of gravel racing in Kenilworth, with 157 riders taking on the roads and forestry trails of the Sunshine Coast hinterland.

Now in its fifth year, the Sunday Creek Classic continues to grow as a fixture on the Australian gravel calendar, bringing riders to Kenilworth for a challenging course through some of the region’s best gravel country.

Perfect May weather and dry, fast roads made for excellent racing, with one of the strongest fields in the event’s history lining up for the 2026 edition.

Richie Leech took the overall men’s victory in 4:13:00, ahead of Josh Beikoff in 4:13:50 and Nick Baker in 4:16:44.

In the women’s race, Storm Graham claimed the win in 4:54:43, with Jessica Pratt second in 5:08:15 and Deb Cormack third in 5:43:38.

A special mention also goes to Ant Graham, who stepped up to race amongst the leading riders after winning the junior category for the previous two years.

Wild&Co Race Director Chris Dixon said the combination of a strong field, great conditions and continued support from the local community made the 2026 event one of the best editions yet.

The event was again supported by Maxxis Tyres, who provided prizes for the winners, along with the volunteers, landowners, businesses and communities around Kenilworth and Jimna who help make the race possible.

Planning is already underway for the 2027 Sunday Creek Classic, including the addition of a shorter course option following the success of the 46km course introduced at the inaugural Kyogle Classic.

The shorter distance will provide another way to experience the Sunday Creek Classic for riders who aren't ready for the full course or simply want a shorter day on the gravel.

Sunday Creek Classic will return in 2027. More details will be announced soon.
