Event Support

The event is semi-supported, with water and refuelling stops provided along the course.

Participants will need to be self-sufficient for extended sections, carrying sufficient water, spare tubes and basic repair items. A support vehicle will follow the course, and event first aid will be available in case of emergency.

There are two refuelling locations planned around the course. Water, sports drink, snacks and fruit will be available, however participants should not rely solely on these supplies and should plan accordingly.

Ride What You’ve Got

The course features a mix of fire trails, gravel roads and some singletrack. It is suitable for gravel bikes, cyclocross bikes, mountain bikes or road bikes with clearance for gravel tyres (35mm or greater recommended).

Participants should be prepared to dismount briefly in a few locations. Carbon-soled road shoes are best left at home.

Mandatory Gear

It is mandatory that all participants carry:

  • A visible event number

  • A fully charged mobile phone with sufficient battery life for the duration of the event

  • Water bottles or a hydration bladder with capacity to carry at least 1.4 litres of water

  • A digital copy of the course map

Participants should also be prepared to manage mechanical issues such as multiple punctures or drivetrain problems. New South Wales road rules apply, and anyone riding in low-light conditions must carry appropriate lights.

Strongly recommended additional equipment includes:

  • Spare quick links / half links

  • At least two spare tubes and a patch kit

  • A hand pump (CO₂ optional)

  • A multi-tool

  • Sufficient food and fluids for a long day out

  • Front and rear lights if you expect to be on course late

Event Numbers

Every participant will be provided with an event number, which must be clearly displayed on the handlebars and visible at all times during the event.

Mobile Phones — Compulsory Equipment

All participants are required to carry a fully charged mobile phone.

It is strongly recommended that participants use the Telstra network, as Optus and Vodafone coverage may be limited in parts of the region. In the event of an emergency, reliable coverage is critical.

Telstra 4G and 5G coverage is available across much of the course, particularly on higher ground and areas with line-of-sight to mobile towers. Coverage may be limited or unavailable in valleys and forested areas.

Phones should be switched off and stored in a waterproof bag unless required.
