This is country that asks something of you – and gives plenty back in return.

The Kyogle Classic is taking shape in Northern New South Wales, where quiet gravel roads wind through rolling farmland, rainforest and forested ranges. The riding unfolds through rewarding climbs and flowing descents, with moments of effort balanced by moments of pure joy on the bike.

Close to Brisbane and the Gold Coast, yet feeling a world away, Kyogle is one of Australian gravel cycling’s best-kept secrets – a place defined by beauty, space and the simple pleasure of discovering what lies ahead.

50km or 120km course

Quiet gravel roads, rainforest climbs and fast descents through Northern NSW.
A course shaped by terrain, not shortcuts.

Ride what you got

Gravel, cyclocross or mountain bikes – all welcome. Comfort, reliability and good tyres matter more than labels.

A TOWN AT THE HEART

Kyogle is a classic country town and the natural hub for the event — relaxed, welcoming and surrounded by great riding.

The name Kyogle

From a local Aboriginal word for the bush turkey – a small detail that threads through the race’s colours and motifs.

Expect this to be tough, very tough – this event is only for those who can race and complete a hard core challenge. There will be minimal support during large sections of the event. You will be expected to be self sufficient and carry your own water and nutrition for long sections of the course.
— Chris Dixon, Race Director

The course is a 100km+ dirty Gran Fondo with 2,500m of climbing featuring fire trails, gravel roads and hopefully some single track. It is suitable for gravel bikes, cycle cross bikes, mountain bikes or road bikes with clearance for gravel tires (35mm plus recommended). Best leave those carbon soled road shoes behind – you will be pushing the bike at some stage!

The event is semi-supported with water and refuelling stops along the way. Riders will need to be self sufficient for large sections of the course carrying sufficient water, spare tubes and parts. A sag wagon will follow the riders sweeping the course and event first aid will be on hand in case of emergency.

Please Note: Final details relating to routes, timing and event format are subject to change and pending final planning and permitting approvals.
